For Bookers
Beyond the production
Licketyspit is always keen to work with bookers to make the most out of each performance we do. We have had a lot of success at generating other events alongside our productions - from special show related menues in theatre cafes and craft tables for making puppets after the shows to competitions with Library services to Come & Try fiddle workshops, art or dance sessions. We are keen to work with venues to create a real buzz in and around the theatre around a visit from Licketyspit. We greet and farewell our audiences and distribute feedback forms at each performance for which we get an excellent rate of return.
Heelie-go-Leerie workshops for families
With Licketyspit Director – Virginia Radcliffe
Heelie-go-Leerie has been inspired by the way children play. Licketyspit is happy to lead exciting drama and games workshops with children of all ages alongside the show.
Education
Licketyspit shows have shown to be very successful with schools audiences and appeal to children right through from nursery to P7.
Heelie-go-Leerie Workshops for schools and nurseries
While this show has been being developed, Licketyspit has been running drama, music, design based play workshops in schools, nurseries and youth clubs in East Lothian and Glasgow. We’ve been playing games and supporting children in creating their own stories and rhymes to add to the Big Heelie-go-Leerie Big Book. The workshop sessions (50 mins) have been very popular and have also encouraged children to initiate games they’ve played in the workshops in the playground.
Licketyspit is very happy to run workshops like these for school groups along side the production and to deliver CPD. For availability and costs please contact Trish McGuinness at licketyspit@blueyonder /0131 653 5259
Curriculum for Excellence.
Heelie-go-Leerie will raise many issues, which are highly relevant to the four key points which make up the Curriculum for Excellence and which can be used by teachers, particularly in relation to (2)Developing confident individuals and leading a healthy active life-style and (3)Developing responsible citizens – in relation to developing an appreciation, value and understanding of difference in ethnicity and culture.
There will be a free teacher’s resource pack available by email, on request, before the production and free interactive programmes for every child.
