The Hare and the Tortoise decide to have a race, in the famous tale by Aesop, retold by Virginia Radcliffe and Deborah Arnott. They cross the river, bake a cake with the brothers Bun - helped by the audience - and brave the Spooky Wood, before they cross the finishing line - together !
(Toured 2001 for the Wee Stories Early Years Project Directed by Virginia Radcliffe)

"With a fine sense of the ridiculous, Radcliffe and Arnott create a highly competitive rivalry between the two creatures, and conscript the kids to support their endeavours...The tale is peppered with nursery rhymes and traditional songs ... tip top fun..." SCOTSMAN

"...don't be surprised when your young come out jumping like the hare, or walking deliberately like her shelled friend..." Edinburgh Guide
