Licketyspit Children & Families Network (CFN)
Licketyspit’s CFN is a network of people who have met Licketyspit – through our projects, shows, school sessions, community sessions – and share a love of imaginary play!
Joining the CFN is a way of keeping in touch with Licketyspit and other children and families to share experiences, ideas and opportunities to enrich family life! The CFN celebrates children’s rights and puts children’s voices at the centre of all of our projects and activities.
Most of all we hope it’s a way to help to inspire your family in your playing, singing, chatting and enjoying stories, books and imaginary play!
Licketyspit has to run to catch up with all the great ideas we get from children and families so we need to be constantly updating our website!
And lots of creations and activities made by YOU!
We want people who come to Licketyspit sessions to feel relaxed, welcome and at home with us.
We really enjoy getting to know our families and we want to keep in touch and also to learn from you
about the kinds of projects you would like to do with us.
We want to know what you think! And hear about what you have been doing? Whether your family is playing our games? Where? Who with?
Do you have a story or picture to share?
Have you been dressing up?
Get in touch! We always write back to children and we will put as much as we can on our website, facebook and twitter for others to enjoy!
Staying in Touch
The Licketyspit CFN Phone is on from Monday-Friday, 10-5pm. If we miss your call we will get back to you as soon as we can!
You’ll get regular emails with invitation to our live events and links to online resources and activities.
Once you’ve joined the CFN you can also join the WhatsApp Group (send us a message to join) and private Facebook Group!
We have translations about Porridge & Play in Arabic, Mandarin, Spanish, Polish, French – so far. These are available here. You can also find our 2020 videos about Coronavirus lockdown in Spanish & Arabic here and Polish here.
BUT Licketyspit projects can be enjoyed by people who are still learning English without translation or interpreting. You don’t need to understand all the words to enjoy and join in with our projects! And they are a brilliant space to relax, chat and practice your English, whatever level you are at.
We have opportunities for parents/carers and families to become Lickety Play Champions – who are ambassadors for Licketyspit nationally and in their own communities. We’d love to hear from you if you would like to become a Lickety Play Champion – all you need is a love of play!
We are a children’s rights-based company and we want children to have real agency in everything we do. We consult children in all our sessions and in our Storyplay Schools. We have regular Child Consultant sessions with CFN families.
Opportunities to volunteer
There are also opportunities this year for bilingual parents/carers to volunteer (with expenses covered) at Porridge & Play and Picnic & Play Sessions. Refugees are especially welcome. Please let us know if you are interested.
Over to you!
As many of you will know, after our Zoom play sessions, and at the end of our Activity Films, we always ask people to share drawings, poems, stories, videos and photos of their creations. Well – the response so far has been incredible! We’ve been overjoyed by the photos and videos we’ve received from children and families in our network, including lots of creativity inspired by our Activity Films – Cooking with Taz, Exploring with Jack and Making with Iona. In the blogs below are just some of the #cfncreations we’ve received so far…from Emmanuel’s Acrostic Poem, Exploring with Zainab, to Cooking with Piyanshu, Taiwo and Ope!
Have you created something you’d like to share with the CFN? Send it to us and we’ll put it up on our website! You see ALL of the photos on Facebook.
