Saturday 12th March 2022

Our celebration & zine launch on Saturday was a brilliant way to finish our Storyplay for the Planet project.

We have had a truly fantastic time over the last few months meetings families from all over Glasgow Centre East Ward and hearing their creative ideas and solutions to help us tackle Climate Change.

We put this zine together but the ideas inside came from each and every family who came along and shared with us at our school, nursery, community and outdoor sessions.

At our celebration session, we did our warm up and met some Funky Animals and then we went flying in our balloons to show our guests the kind of things that we saw over the last few months! We flew high up over the sky and when we looked down we saw a dirty, muddy, smelly river. Well…. we couldn’t allow that! So we landed our balloons and got to work cleaning out the muck. We had tubes to suck out all the oil, we had bin bags to recycle all the rubbish and when it was clean we were able to go for a swim. The water was so crystal clear we could see dolphins, and fish and anemones. We even spotted a great big shark but we all pretended to be seaweed until the shark swam away!

After we made it back to Cranhill Development Trust we enjoyed some delicious food but….. we weren’t done playing!
We had enjoyed the games so much that as soon as we finished eating we were right back up again in our circle singing some of our favourite songs Hello, My Name is Joe and, of course, Grandma Grandma.

We all had so much fun and the magazine looks brilliant! Have a look at it here and let us know what you think!!

This Zine was produced as part of the project with Lead Actor-Pedagogue Effie editing together the children’s stories, ideas and reflective drawings.

It is both a record of the sessions and an invitation to use your imagination and creativity to explore ways to protect our planet!

You can pick up a physical copy at Cranhill Development Trust, Barlanark Community Centre and the schools and nurseries around the ward.

What’s next?

Ways to keep playing and imagining through Storyplay!

Our Glasgow Life residency may be over but there are lots of other Licketyspit projects you can get involved with.

From May we’ll be running more online sessions as part of Big Porridge & Play Glasgow. These will take place from 4.30-6pm on Fridays – contact us to register your interest.

Then in September we’ll be holding the first ever STORYPLAY FESTIVAL! Watch this space.

Storyplay for the Planet was a series of Storyplay & Have Your Say Through Play sessions for families with 3-12 year olds in East Centre Ward.

Licketyspit delivered sessions in schools, nurseries, online and in community settings, for families across the East Centre Ward.

These sessions were a chance for families to explore the issue of climate change and share their feelings about it creatively, elevating children’s voices and demonstrating the power of imagination to find solutions to the greatest collective challenge of our time!

Storyplay for the Planet is back!

We were back on the 20th January for our second Storyplay for the Planet online session!

These sessions are supported by Glasgow Life & Bloomberg as part of Licketyspit’s East Centre Ward Residency and the Create4Glasgow project, supporting children’s creative solutions to climate change!

There we were dressed as pirates on a ship doing all our normal pirate duties: scrubbing the deck; climbing the rigging; clearing the rubbish out the water; sorting it into recycling when suddenly, Pirate André found a small ball…We weren’t sure what it was but Pirate Felicia recognised it as The Magic Ball and told us all about it!

“It’s a magic ball. We blow it up and we go inside it and we have to say Magic ball magic ball take us where we want to go, Magic ball magic ball take us where we want to go.” – Pirate Felicia

So we followed her instructions and went inside the magic ball. We thought about all the places we might go, said the magic words altogether and then…..

We arrived in the middle of a forest with GIANT trees. Fareedah found a map that was going to lead us to a treasure chest so we set off on our journey. It got quite hot as we were moving through the forest so Ameerah suggested we take a seat and stop for a bit. As we were looking around Temi found a treasure chest. We had made it! However…

Standing beside the treasure chest was a very sad man who was crying because all the trees had been cut down due to deforestation. Felicia suggested we go to the police station to tell them not to cut down the trees and then when we’d done that we could come back to plant some more trees. We went all the way up, then to the left, then to the right, then to the centre, then we were there. We met Policeman Olaife. At first he didn’t think there was a problem but then Temi explained it might stop us from growing any food and he agreed it was a bad thing that we needed to stop! We headed back into the forest and Fikayo told us all how to plant the trees. We needed seeds, soil, water and time! Fareedah had seeds for everybody so we planted them into the ground. Put some soil on top and poured water over the top and we waited for the trees to grow up and up and up! The trees were starting to grow already!

We headed back to the magic ball and we all agreed that it is very important to look after our trees!

Storyplay For The Planet

The school groups will receive an introductory Storyplay session, followed by a Have your Say Through Play session to support the children to express their thoughts, feelings & ideas about Climate Change using imaginary play.

These sessions will be a chance for families to explore the issue of climate change and share their feelings about it creatively, elevating children’s voices and demonstrating the power of imagination to find solutions to the greatest collective challenge of our time!

Bellrock Nursery session 2

We were back at Bellrock Nursery on Friday 10th December for our second Storyplay for the Planet session!

It was a glorious session once again at Bellrock primary school with lots of fun packed into it. We had some newcomers, but everyone who came last remembered our Big as a Bear warm-up, and our newcomers picked it up so fast with a big roar, we got through it all as fast as a hare!

Funky Chicken was incredible with so many interesting and diverse animals including Albie’s Barking Dog where we all became this funky creature. Our wonderful Storyplay Champion Josephine also had to have a go showing us her Snapping Crocodile. We also saw the noisy sheep and Macie’s Happy Cat. There were so many animals we could have filled a Licketyspit zoo!

Dressing Up was a whole bag of fun, where we dressed up as creatures in Mr Wolf’s Forest. We had Theo’s superhero, Jason’s Spider Man and Jason’s Snake, along with all sorts of other interesting animals, including a mischievous wolf…

This Wolf was the only wolf in the whole forest who could tell time, which led us into our game What’s the time, Mr Wolf? Ruby wolf, our actor-pedagogue was our first Wolf, thinking about cutting down trees, flying a jet aeroplane and digging up plants. Our kind and thoughtful participants said not to, saying that we needed to think about whether the birds would get stuck in the jet. Robbie said the birds would get hurt, and others thought that the plane would get stuck in the trees and the garden would be ruined, which wouldn’t be good, so we managed to change the wolf’s mind!

Next, we got to meet Tommy’s wolf, Wolfie, who built a house and took us dancing before dinner time! Then Jackson and Myriam became howling wolves, getting us all to join in with their wolf cries.

Once we’d come up with our ideas, we started drawing!

Reflective drawings and gallery were extra special with lots of belly bows all around and many exceptional drawings and things to say about them. Everyone really appreciated the sharing around the semi-circle.

Storyplay For The Planet with Bellrock Nursery

We went to Bellrock Nursery on Friday 3rd December for the first session of our Storyplay for the Planet!

Everyone was ready to get stuck in and play all the games with us, many having learnt some of the games from their teacher, Storyplay Champion Josephine.

Our extraordinary 3-5 year-olds were quickly warmed up with Big As A Bear, exploring some incredible wildlife creates and becoming expressive characters. It was such a riot with lots of laughter! It quickly became a favourite game for some.

We then had a round of Funky Chicken, where we met Reise and Gracie’s Spotty Giraffe, the Brown & White Dog, Mini Dog, the Dancing Hippo from our excellent teacher Josephine, the Silly Bunny and the Happy Sheep!

We then played Flying Balloons. We saw a tiny door below us and Reise saw Santa coming out of the door! Harlow saw Santa leaving on his sleigh and Sarah saw her Mum. We then saw the sea…and flew down and swam in it! We saw lots of fish, sharks and piranas. We surfed and swam! Several children turned into sharks who we fed with fish which we caught, marshmallows and even chicken nuggets!

We swam up, landed on the beach and relaxed with a well-needed nap, sleeping on the shore…

We then made a fire and Theo found sticks and marshmallows to have along with fish we caught. A few of you told us what their fish tasted like – cake and strawberry and even sausages!

Then it was time to fly home in our Flying Balloons.

We did have time for our Grandma Grandma rhyme, which was a real treat. We all learned the song and the moves. It was a real hoot! The game was played with lots of actions and plenty of enthusiasm. We can not wait to see everyone do Grandma Grandma again next time!

What we drew

The ocean with a shark, that’s the suncream for the beach. I liked swimming around.

That’s the fire I’ve got a firestick with marshmallows, it tasted like nice.

That’s the water, that’s the boat. I’m on the boat. Going to Paris! I liked swimming in the sea.

That’s purple shark, green shark, pink shark, family of sharks. Mummy shark is pink. They’re swimming in the sea. I was a shark. A scary shark. People were throwing sticks at the shark and they died. And then mum shark came and looked after them. I had a back like a shark.

That’s all my family and a bunny. Playing with the bunny. That’s a boat. Going to Flamingo Land, had a good time.

Once we’d come up with our ideas, we started drawing!

After we had all our adventures we all came together to do some reflective drawing. This gave us time to think and chat about the amazing things we had experienced in our imaginary play. We especially heard a lot about the children’s personal adventures under the sea.

Session 2 Cranhill Primary

We were back at Cranhill Primary on Friday 26th November for our second Storyplay for the Planet!

We played Big as a Bear and Funky Chicken, where we met the Cheeky Monkey, Snapping Alligator and Funky Flamingo.

It was lovely to see so many animals who make up our wonderful environment brought to life. All of whom are worth protecting!

Let’s Bake a Cake…for the Earth!

We then decided to make a cake for the earth with Let’s Bake a Cake For The Earth, where we put lots of ingredients for the planet as well as the yummy (and not so yummy) things we love to have in our imaginary cakes.

This included hope, small trees, bees, honey, many different coloured icing and water which we put into a giant bowl and stirred until the cake was ready to put in the oven. We all helped lift it in and Marcelo opened the oven door, Mason pressed the button and…..5….4….3….2…1! Bing bing bing!

Once we had decorated the cake and sang happy birthday to the planet, we all had a piece and tasted lots of exciting flavours! We hope that we will be able to celebrate many more birthdays with the earth.

What’s the Time Mr Fossil Fuel Wolf?

This led us nicely into Dressing Up and then What’s The Time Mr Fossil Fuel Wolf, where we meet the not so nice wolves who we successfully convinced not to do bad things to the planet. With wolves like Mr Greenhouse Gas Wolf only our determined planet-protecting participants could oppose them.

One of the things the wolves wanted to do was cut down the trees, which we did not want to do as this would mean that we could not breathe, meaning that we could not live in the world! The children also pointed out that many animals would not be able to survive without their forest homes. By speaking out, we convinced the wolf to save the trees and our future. Other schemes that our wolves came up with were digging up all the flowers and travelling everywhere using a privet jet, both of which we prevented with our reason and passion.

Into the Magic Ball…

Returning from the forest, Ruby discovered a Magic Ball in her pocket. It took us into the snowy forests of the North Pole where we met Mrs Clause, who spoke in the Christmas language. We were lucky to have people who could understand and tell the rest of us what was being said. It tuned out that Mrs Clause wanted to give us a hot chocolate and have a picture with us all, which we were happy to take part in. But then she became upset – the ice was melting! Luckily we were able to help by calling out a magic spell to make more snow fall. We couldn’t resist a great snowball fight before returning to our magic ball so that we could go home.

Our Stories

I drew a field of wheat with poppy flowers. Drew this because wheat is very important for everything. It makes me feel free, calm and nice!

Mum

That’s everything we put in the cake, giant snake and seeds. That’s the jam and the water. That’s some flowers and some bumblebees cat going into the hive. My favourite was Mr Wolf!

Amber

It’s What’s The Time Mr Wolf, that’s the wolf. That’s me. These are trees. I liked arguing with the wolf. He was a bad wolf. I liked the magic ball as well.

Aria-Rose

Magic ball, when we were all spinning round and made a snowman and stuff. That’s the snowman in the forest. My favourite thing was interacting with other people cause I don’t get the chance to do that much and it was good for her too.

Mum

After our Storyplay adventures, we started drawing!

Reflective drawing gave us time to sit and chat and discuss all the amazing stories we had created.

What an amazing play session we had! Thank you to the children and grown ups and Cranhill Primary School who came to play with us!

Storyplay For The Planet on Zoom!!

We met together on the 19th of November on zoom to have your say through play about our planet!

We hosted a Storyplay session on zoom to talk all about our planet with some new and old friends! It was so much fun getting to learn and explore together. We got to become experts are recycling and looking after our planet was well as learning about lots of different animals!

We saw a shark and a wobbly fish and some bees !

All of these animals are super important for our environment, each having their own unique role to play! We talked about how we could save them and make sure their world was nice and clean!

How could we look after our planet?

‘ We could maybe use less plastic,’ – Miracle

‘We could stop making lots of smoke,’ – Praise

‘ We should plant more trees,’ – Ameerah

‘We can recycle,’ – Muhammad

We talked about COP26 and how it came to Glasgow. The children were very excited to share all they had learned about plastics in our waters and how we can all work together to stop pollution on our Scottish shores.

Flying Balloons

We went on an adventure in our Flying Balloons. Flying across the sky over Glasgow, our eyes were drawn to a pirate ship on the River Clyde. We flew down to have a look and Recycling Expert Adeelah realised they were clearing the river of rubbish!

We decided to help them so we landed on the boat, put on our snorkels, and dived in further to have a look around. That is when we discovered a sunken ship with a giant ink spill that we were a little worried about. Rainbow Expert Muhammed also noticed a treasure chest guarded by a shark and a person who needed our help as they were drowning. We helped them to the surface and left the medical care to our Expert Doctor Ameerah, and then decided to go back underwater to pick up the treasure and try to solve the ink spill.

First, we needed to find a way to get past the shark – the Animal Experts Miracle and Praise came up with the idea of distracting the shark by reflecting light with some sea-softened glass that we found. This gave us the time to grab the treasure and come up to the surface where we could open it. Inside the chest was some very valuable treasure – equipment to clean the river! Together we sucked up the ink using the giant pipe.

There was a lot of teamwork and we could not have done it without each other. The world is indeed our treasure and something we should all look after!

Our Stories

‘ In our school we were doing competitions and poster for the environment and we had a meeting kind of like the one we did it Glasgow and people were telling what we learned about COP26 in school. One of the people was telling what happened there and when they came back to the class they told us all what the people in the meeting said.’

Adeelah

‘It’s a school of fishes in the sea I sawed them when we were flying away!’

Ameerah

‘This is my favourite part. This is when we used the glass to distract the shark. She is going to get the chest! That’s seaweed and that’s the fish,’

Praise

‘I drew a boat and a bee and these are the plastic bottles under neath the sea. I saw a bee too and I think the bee is distracting the boat.’

Anita

‘ I drawed this. It is a fish.’

Ameerah

Talking all about our adventures!

‘My favourite part of my drawing is the part the bit where we used the glass to distract the shark. And those are us and this is the glass to distract the shark. And that’s the shark, and some treasure and the fish. I’m not done with it but I tried!’

Miracle

‘It was stormy and cold! Orange, black and green green so in the fire!’

Olaife

‘ This is my drawing this is a shark and it tried to run inside a cave and it tried to get me. But, it can’t get into the cave because I’m really small so it can’t get in and my favourite part of the session is when we distracted the shark!’

Temi, Fikayo & Tiwani

‘This is mine and it’s the shark and this is me but I didn’t know the shark was coming and this a mirror and then I knew the shark was coming and it separated them and I feel excited!’

‘So I’ve got a picture of me wearing a fish costume breaking to be a fish to the shark and Muhammad is pretending to be asleep to get the treasure. My favourite thing today was probably when we got to dress up. I was the expert of recycling!’

‘I drawed that I was distracting the shark by giving him a fish and Adeelah was sneaking to get the treasure but this is the shark!’

Once we’d come up with our ideas, we started drawing!

After we had all our adventures we all came together to do some reflective drawing. This gave us time to sit and chat and discuss all the amazing adventures we had been on! We got to hear all about the animals we had seen and all the pollution we want to tackle! From saving the bees and making sure there is no plastics in our ocean to sharks and finding buried treasure we sure had a whale of a time!

What an amazing play session we had! Thank you to the children and grown ups who came to play with us!

Getting ready for Porridge & Play 2022!

Welcome to the Storyplay Champion blog where we’ll be sharing news of our preparations to launch
Porridge & Play Castlemilk and Porridge & Play East End in 2022!

Our Storyplay Champion Families prepare for the two new Hubs coming to Porridge & Play in 2022!

When you come to play with us it is important that we’ve got the opinion of families and professionals so we can play the best way! As we all know the worlds play experts are children so we got together with our Storyplay Champion families from Castlemilk & The East End to start preparing for Porridge & Play!

Porridge & Play is fun for all the family and we are working hard to bring that fun to you in person in the New Year!

Tuesday 16th November

We would like to thank all our Storyplay Champion families who managed to make it to their session! It was so fun learning about all the ways we can make people comfortable and ready to play when coming to Porridge & Play 2022.

We practiced playing games together like our Flying Balloons Game and Funky Chicken, all of which are crowd favourites and all of which will be appearing in Porridge & Play 2022.

Here are some things we saw when playing Flying Balloons!

‘I can see the Clyde River! I can see seaweed and rocks.’ –Mahek

‘I can see a river pond. There is big fish and big sharks! It’s a friendly shark- no-no it’s an angry shark!’ – Brown

‘A fidget store! Peoples are buying fidgets.’ –Sara

Do you play our games with other people?

‘I play- I play some games with my baby brother. Mostly the Funky Chicken because he likes that ‘what did you say’ but sometimes I’ll play the other games but I’ve forgot the names. Oh yeah we do do magic ball sometimes!”

Areeb

‘I play magic ball with my daddy! I played magic ball for two weeks and I saw my friend playing on the slide.’

Brown

‘Sometimes I play these games when I’m bored at home I play them with Fathima or Ibrahim or sometimes when I’m like outside in my school at playtime I ask my friends ‘do you know the funky chicken’ and they’re like ‘what?’ so then I tell them about the game.’

Mahek

‘Sometimes I do. I play the funky chicken and I play the magic ball, sometimes, I did Grandma Grandma once.’

Mahek

‘You go magic ball! Magic Ball take me where you want to go!’

Getting to know you! Getting to know all about you!

Getting to know new people can be scary yet exciting! We spoke to our Storyplay champion families on some ways we could make people feel welcome as how we could meet new people!

When you come to Porridge & Play we play like one big family. No one is left out, we all get a turn and there is no need to put your hand up! We stand in a circle so we can see everyone playing and everyone can see us playing. Games are so much fun! But the best games are when we are all playing together!

The Storyplay Champion families spoke about how nice it is to know people by name, that’s why they love it that at Porridge & Play everyone gets a name tag so we can see how each our our names are spelt but also what are names are.

How would you welcome people?

‘When I went to my school, my new school, yeah? I didn’t know that many faces and I didn’t know all the faces so I was really surprised and I was really shy and I was nervous and then I was really shy but then I got used to them and I was less shy.’

Mahek

‘It is of two ways. If I meet people I feel shy and I feel happy. At first I am shy because I don’t know how to say their name. Unless I see the spelling like I am seeing ours right now. So if I see the spelling I am able to pronounce it. I remember when I first met Andre and he told me I was saying it incorrectly. So inside me I’m shy because I didn’t say it correctly until he spelled it for me and then I could say it. So I am happy to meet people because then I know them more and I have more friends so I’m happy to see more people.’

Euiance (Mum)

‘I would ask if can we be friends? Sometimes I do that when I’m around the park because I don’t have anyone to play with so I ask random people if I can be friends with them.’

Sara

‘I would welcome them in and show them around the place. I wouldn’t ask them too many questions. Just to keep them calm and so they don’t think they have to sign a lot of papers.’

Areeb

‘When I always meet my friend in the playground I always feel happy because I know their names!’

Brown

‘I played with them, I talked with them, I was around them so then I got to know their names so that made me less shy.’

Mahek

At the end of our first Storyplay Champion session, we did some reflection

After we played we all came together to do some reflective drawing and self evaluation. This gave us time to sit and chat and discuss how we feel about our confidence levels but also how we feel as part of our communities! The families got to discuss how being a Storyplay champion would build their confidence and how meeting new people with decrease social isolation and bring lots of different people together.

Which of course is what Porridge & Play is all about!

We are also holding taster sessions in schools, nurseries & youth groups in Castlemilk & The East End (Cranhill & Bridgeton), between the 17th Jan 2022 – 4th of Feb 2022 so we can show everyone how we play!

The Lickety Gallery!

Porridge & Play hubs are happening in Castlemilk & East End in 2022!

We are thrilled to announce that Licketyspit has been funded by the New Scots Integration Fund to set up two new Porridge & Play Hubs in Glasgow!

Porridge & Play Hubs – Castlemilk & East End will be delivered in partnership with Storyplay Champion partners, parents/carers and children from these communities, with open sessions starting in the new year.

The project has been designed in consultation with the Licketyspit Children & Families Network and draws on Licketyspit’s highly successful and well-evaluated intergenerational imaginary play project Big Porridge & Play Glasgow.

We chose Castlemilk and the East End for this expansion because of the high numbers of asylum-seeking families living in and around these areas who have joined Licketyspit’s Porridge & Play Onlinesessions and further, because of the enthusiasm of our local partners to learn about and use Licketyspit’s Storyplay approach.

Storyplay For The Planet with Cranhill Primary!!

We went to Cranhill Primary on Friday 12th November for the first session of our Storyplay for the Planet!

We got to meet loads of wonderful children and their grown ups! As well as some of the fantastic teachers at the school that let us come and play with them!

In this session we started out by being as BIG as a BEAR! Which meant we got to meet loads of animal friends that live on our planet.

Then we got to know the Funky Chicken! All the children and grown ups got to show us their animal. Which included a sleepy elephant and a snappy snake

We got to sing about Grandma and then blow up our balloons and travel all over the WORLD! What a great adventure it was!

Flying Balloons

We started off by exploring in our sock and you’ll never guess what we found?! Why, we found a balloon! But, not just any balloon! It was a MAGIC balloon. We took our balloons and we blew them UP and UP and UP so they could take us high in the sky! They let us explore our world and what an amazing world it is!

We started off in Glasgow Green where we found a pond. In that pond there were some ducks! And these ducks had a giant octopus as a friend. We were a little scared of the octopus at first but once we got to know him we all became good friends.

When a naughty seagull popped our balloons we got to blow them up again! This time we flew so so high we got to meet all new friends. We met a rainbow flamingo! This flamingo was rainbow coloured because it had so much love for our planet! We then went to the Prymids in Egypt where we got to dig for buried treasure. When we found some we got to share it with all our friends.

We even got to go to outer space! This is where we met a friendly alien and got to tell him all about our planet. He was a little sad when we had to leave but we promised we’d be back.

So, just remember! If you ever want to go on a flying balloon adventure you just have to look in your sock!

Our Stories

‘this is when we went on the adventure and that’s the sad alien, he’s sad cause we left. And that’s the dad alien and that’s the mum. It was a full moon. That’s a lion, I seen a lion over there when were flying the balloons. It was running over there cause it’s home’s over there in the cave. He was a friendly lion. I have hundreds of balloons.’

‘that’s a wolf, and elsa and a unicorn, and an alien. The alien is with Peter. That’s my mum, she’s making noodles that’s where she’s cooking the noodles. The wolf was running away and someone was trying to get me.’

Amelia

‘I made a rainbow and then I put some blue in it and that’s the sky and a unicorn tail and I drew my name. The unicorn was in the sky flying about with me. Flying to the desert where they live in a rainbow cave. That’s me and the rainbow and that’s the kisses in the rainbow. I liked it when we put the stuff in our hair and got mucky.’

Ellie

‘that’s the stuff on the head, that’s the kiss and that’s the kiss and that’s the jelly and that’s the slug slime, snail, honey and that’s the flour. It felt funny with all the stuff on my head. That’s the milk and that’s the honey and that’s the wee tub to pour all the honey in it and that’s the factory and that’s the bees that make the honey.’

Do you know the Funky Chicken?!

well, do you know the funky chicken?!

The grown ups and children at Cranhill primary sure do!

We got to meet loads of exciting and fun animals when meeting the Funky Chicken. These animals included a Sleepy Elephant, a Snappy Snake, a Scaredy Cat, a Dancing Monkey and a Silly Parrot! All the children and grown ups got to show us their animals and then we got to talk about how important they are to our planet and the best way to keep them safe for everyone to enjoy!

The adventures you can go with a flying balloon!

‘When we went to space, that’s the night sky, it’s all purple and that’s the stars and the moon and the balloons popped. The planet is water and land. I liked the drawing the most.’

Zach

‘My pastel pink balloon, landing on the moon, there are magic swirls that Amber added for me. I liked the balloons the best because I like travelling to different places. Might go to Brazil next time, find a street party.’

Mrs Fitchie

‘This is not a sad frog, this is a sad alien and he was sad because they missed us because weren’t in space anymore. Here is some of the treasure we found. He’s been playing mucky brew so he’s got an egg on his head a space slug on his shoulder. I loved playing today.’

Mr Beggs

‘This is where we put everything on our head there’s slime and yoghurt, on our cheeks and tongue, that’s mamma Mel. That’s the egg shell and ketchup. It was fun and took me back to when I was little and I loved seeing her having fun.’

Brogan (Mum)

‘The sleepy elephant and the rainbow flamingo and all the balloons fomr when we were going on a trip. I loved that when I was thinking of things to see below all the ideas were so amazing and I realised we could make up anything at all!’

Once we’d come up with our ideas, we started drawing!

After we had all our adventures we all came together to do some reflective drawing. This gave us time to sit and chat and discuss all the amazing adventures we had been on! We got to hear all about the animals (and aliens) we had met! We also got to discuss the mucky brew we had made and the song Grandma Grandma which we had all sung together.

What an amazing play session we had! Thank you to the children and grown ups and Cranhill Primary School who came to play with us!
