Term 2 Celebration Assembly - P6 Story Performances 22nd March The intense creative work of the P6A and P6B Playground Play Champions over the last few weeks paid off on Friday. when they shared their wonderful stories at the Storyplay Term 2 Celebration Assembly. These stories were created by the pupils with Ruby, Effie and Amy from Licketyspit. They then turned them into short performances, and after a few short rehearsals, shared these with the rest of the school. We were so impressed by everyone who got up on stage to perform, even if they had felt nervous beforehand. Having developed Granny Characters using the Lickety Playcard games last term, and putting these characters into different scenarios in In the Way of the Word and What Are You Doing? earlier this term, the P6s brought all of their imaginary play ideas together in these stories. Thank you all for showing everyone in the school where imaginary play can take you. The games, rhymes and songs of the Lickety Playcards are just the beginning  - through Storyplay you can be anyone, go anywhere, do anything!  P6 Stories The Story of Manny and George and Catbug P6B Maria the Angel and the Fishermen P6B Bob the Marshmallow P6B Shrek and the Egg P6A The Wolf P6A Sans the Skeleton and Polly the Pug P6A

Active Grannies – Playground Play

2019-03-25T18:01:07+00:00

'In the Way of the Word' - Active Grannies! 31st Jan We had a great time returning to our Granny characters this week with P6. We created these characters in the first term and introduced them to the whole school at the Celebration Assembly in November 2018. This week, we played 'In the Way of the Word' - dressed up as our Granny characters! Then everyone drew and wrote about their character and what they might have been doing later on...

Bookplay at Canal View Nursery

2020-01-31T16:31:03+00:00

We had a great time catching up with Canal View Nursery families and playing the Licketyspit games again at Bookplay this term. We also explored the wonderful story of "Angelo" and his family of circus performers - and created some circus acts of our own! It was great to hear that so many families have been playing the Lickety Playcard games at home and to have so many parents and carers getting involved in creating the group circus acts and supporting all the children - as well as their own - alongside our actor-pedagogues and nursery staff. Don't forget to sign up to our Children & Families Network, if you haven't already, to find out about more Lickety-play opportunities around Edinburgh. "It’s my mummy. She’s swimming in the sea. This is the building. That was the sky and then it turned into the sea." Child, Reflective Drawing "The water, a boat with a person on it. There’s a tree with some apples on. There’s a swing, a baby bird in a nest and some food for the birds" Child, Reflective Drawing "She likes the Grandma song so she gets me to sing that song in the house" Mum I wish I could go there Margaret & Margaret Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do...
