Big Porridge & Play Outdoors
Do you know how sometimes when we play we tele transport ourselves places on the Magic Ball? Or sometimes we jump into paintings or video games? Or we slide down chutes into other worlds?
Well, after months and months playing together on Zoom, it felt like we all jumped out of our screens to gather in person at 4 parks across Glasgow for Big Porridge & Play Outdoors!
When the restrictions finally allowed us to play together safely outdoors in groups of 25, we were ecstatic to meet old and new friends alike for imaginary play, chat and a samosa, as part of Big Porridge & Play 2021.
Outdoor Play Videos
In 2020, our actor-pedagogues made some videos to inspire imaginative play outdoors. These can be a great prompt for some Storyplay adventuring in the garden, park or beach!
Picnic & Play
We take Storyplay outdoors in several other ways. We have Picnic & Play trips to Troon Beach and Balloch Country Park at Loch Lomond. We do Forest Storyplay at the Children’s Wood, climbing trees and toasting marshmallows on the fire.
Storyplay Festivals
We also have our Storyplay Festivals outdoors – Dassie Park in 2022 and the Children’s Wood in 2024.
