Week 4 of Castlemilk Porridge & Play!!

Wednesday 30th March

Licketyspit & our Castlemilk pals got together once again at Castlemilk Community Centre on the last Wednesday before the Easter holidays. We sat around the table tucking into our beautiful food and we welcomed a new family Yang, Li, Celine & Lewis who joined in with lovely smiles, ready for some Porridge & Play!

‘I am a witch! HAHAHAHA!’

The witchy cackles could be heard all over Castlemilk!

Anita was a very cheery witch & Catherine the Witch tickled Taz to the ground when she got her!!

Eshal & Jared were two very tricksy witches working together to get us all and Yang a was very focused witch!

‘Mucky Me, Mucky You, Mucky Mucky Mucky Brew!’

Rotten egg and pizza sauce,

Scoop some slime out of a pot!

Pasta, cake, whipped cream in your ears

Plant your face in jelly without any fears!

Mix it all up, make a big mess

Spread all ingredients all over your face!

Jump in the shower and wash it all off

Then dry in the dryer if you’ve had enough!

Let me also tell you about The Funky Chicken and the new shapes and moves our friends are coming up with! We had Freya being a Fast Cheetah on all fours and speeding in and out the circle! Summer made herself into a Jumpy Dolphin that rolled on the water! And what about Ayra’s Jumping Rabbit that hopped in a big circle? And Kevin’s Water Elephant that got everyone splashing water out of their trunks!

Ameerah made up a new verse for Jelly on His Head about Eve with ketchup on her face! And during the Licketyspit Art Gallery we found out that Kian knows so much about animals! He drew a toucan which is a kind of bird from the Tropics and also a pair of meerkats. Levi decided he wanted to make a paper airplane with his drawing to give to Kai.

Oh and Hadir drew a portrait of Taz! We loved it when Arwa shared her very high pitch witchy cackle with everyone!

We also had a visitor, Kirsty, who works with our Storyplay Champions Michelle and Nicola at the Indigo Childcare Group. She had heard great things about our Porridge & Play and wanted to come and find out what we get up to. She had a great time and she may even come back again!

Amira and Huma got chatting about food and how many different types of cuisines we must have in our very culturally diverse Castlemilk Hub!

Maybe that’s a bit of food for thought?

Wouldn’t it be great to find out how many different cultures, languages and types of food we have in our Castlemilk Hub?

Huzzah for The Castlemilk Pals!
