Miltonbank P4 – Session 1

Monday 2nd March 2020

It was great to meet Primary 4 at Miltonbank for our first STORYPLAY session this week!

We had such a great time playing and imagining together!

As we introduced the class to the Funky Chicken we realised several members of the class had already met our animal friends and they were quick to welcome some exciting new animals to us! James excitedly told us about the Mystery Dog who went ‘who let the dogs out, woof woof woof woof !’ and Aderyn said hello to the Cheeky Guinea Pig

We flew high in our Flying Balloons for the first time and were delighted with how excited and full of ideas the class were. We were also impressed with how observant they were in recalling back what they were seeing and how small they were from way up high – “Our primary school looks so small it looks like a raisin!”

We waved hello to Chantelle’s family and watched an elephant walking in the Sahara desert!

The class demonstrated just how creative they are with some truly brilliant dressing up! Benjamin managed to fit 5 different hats on his head! There were some great uses of clothing in some very un-traditional ways and lots of the class drew before and after pictures in the Licketyspit Art Gallery!

We also took a brilliant trip in the Magic Ball – which if you remember you can use at any moment and it takes you wherever you want to go!

We first arrived on the warm beaches of Greece. We were all worried about burning in the sun so we all handed out sun cream and hats and tried to find somewhere to stay. We arrived at Aiesha’s Hotel and she gladly told us she had 100 free rooms for us! Phew! We took a swim in the sparkly turquoise sea and met the magical sea creature Lulu! What an adventure we went on. We were very excited to hear that Leah and Marika joined their magic balls together at playtime and went on their own Magic Ball journey together!

We can’t wait to be back with you next week!

We had a fantastic Lickety Art Gallery!

You can read some of the children’s words below and see all the drawings in a P4 album on our Facebook page. Click here to see it!

“Well its all about the universes and it’s every single one and the one in the middle is the most powerful universe in the galaxy which is the milky and these are the meteors heading up to all the planets and this is the fire because they are going at 100 million miles per hour. I saw this when we were in the balloon – balloon game. Well I did like the magic ball one too.”

James

“So basically these are all of the children waiting fro their turn in the magic ball and this is the wee magic ball and this is the big magic ball once we’ve blown it up.”

Marike

“So that’s me when I didn’t have my costume on and that’s me when I did have my costume on. I wore the white jacket with the flowers.”

Chantelle

“I saw the world when I was flying and a tiger chasing the monkeys.”

Kaiden

“That one’s me as granny, these are the trees as monsters, monsters! I was 100 and a thousand years old! That’s the curtains from my castle, it had blue windows.”
