  • Big Porridge & Play 2023

    Porridge & Play 2023 - back in 7 communities! So far in 2023 the Licketyspit team has delivered after school and weekend Porridge & Play in community partner venues and online, as well as exciting Picnic & Play trips to outdoor, arts and cultural spaces over the summer holidays. Bridgeton (May 23) Castlemilk (July 23) Cranhill (May 23) Govan (May 23) Still to come... Porridge & Play is coming to Maryhill, Whiteinch & our Online community this Autumn! REGISTER YOUR INTEREST. Maryhill (Tues 3rd Oct, Fri 13th, Tues 17th, 24th, 31st, ) Online (October block) Whiteinch (Wednesdays; Oct 18th, 25th, 1st Nov, 8th, 15th) Local families with 3-8 year olds can take part in the sessions which include Storyplay games, rhymes, songs, dressing up & imaginary play, a healthy and nutritious communal meal and shared reflective drawing. Older and younger siblings can also attend.   • Porridge & Play Castlemilk 2023

    Porridge & Play Castlemilk is back for summer 2023! Sessions will take place on Wednesdays (12-2.30pm) at Castlemilk Library from 28th June to 2nd August. (100 Castlemilk Dr, Glasgow G45 9TN) We'll go out to Castlemilk park when the weather is nice and even have a Picnic & Play trip further afield. Porridge & Play Castlemilk launched in 2022. These sessions are part of Big Porridge & Play Glasgow, a project supported by the National Lottery Community Fund. Local families with 3-8 year olds are invited to join us for a summer of Storyplay, food, family & friendship! Watch your child's voice grow.     Join Licketyspit & your Porridge & Play GOVAN pals for a Picnic & Play trip to the Beach! Thursday 6th July 10am - 4pm Meet at the Pearce Institute (840 Govan Road, G51) at 10am. We’ll play some of our favourite games, enjoy a delicious picnic & maybe even dip our toes in the sea!  Places are limited, so please get in touch if you would like to attend. Sign up

    Join Licketyspit and your Porridge & Play pals for... Picnic & Play to Balloch Castle Country Park! Friday 7th July 10am-4pm Meet at Community Central Hall, 304 Maryhill Road, G20 7YE (near the Lidl at the bottom of Maryhill Road) to get the bus. Let your imagination go wild with our Storyplay games, enjoy a delicious picnic with friends and explore the wonderful country park and castle on the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond! Places are limited, so please get in touch if you would like to attend. Participants at Big Porridge & Play Online will be given priority places.     Picnic & Play at the Tall Ship! Thursday 27th July 11.30am - 2pm Meet us there! The address is Tall Ship Glenlee, 150 Pointhouse Place, G3 8RS. Note that the ship is on the north side of the river, near Whiteinch and next to the Riverside Museum. Partick train, subway and bus station is a 15 minute walk away, or it's about a 30 minute walk from Whiteinch Library. Let your imagination go wild with our Storyplay games and enjoy a delicious picnic with other local families. Places are limited, so please get in touch if you would like to attend.     Big Porridge & Play Glasgow is back for 4 weeks on Saturday 27th April, May 4th, May 11th & May 18th from 11am-12.30pm for families that don't live near enough to access our 6 Porridge & Play Hubs.
