Wednesday 2nd August We had an awesome final session at Castlemilk Library! We turned the music UP and we booogied our way through a dancing warm up teaching each other our favourite moves before declaring ourselves as BIG as Bears & meeting a whole HOST of funky chickens. We clucked & squawked and jumped like jumpy frogs, sneaked like sneaky cats, got all mixed up as confused octopuses do, roared like angry lions, HISSED like angry snakes until finally we were BARKING like angry dogs. AND then someone said... "Joe? Are you busy?" We all said "NO!" Pushed all the buttons till each and every limb was occupied ready to burst... or rather we were really ready to... DRESS UP AS PIRATES! And enter the magic ball. Through the magic ball we found a pirate crew...we didn't have a ship but we did make it to pirate island. On pirate island we saw PREHISTORIC ANIMALS & ran away from cannibals. Suddenly a blue whale appeared. It was a relief that Harris could speak Whale! Wednesday 26th July This week Porridge & Play Castlemilk pals got all dressed up & fairy glam to head out to the Forest Fairies and Goblin Trail in Castlemilk Park. Some of us had big swirls on our faces and lots of glitter. Some of us wore tops & trouser fairy wings striking poses by the library and together we funky marched up the road to Castlemilk park. A quick climb in the play park before getting our MAPS & entering the woods suddenly...a Fairy appeared on the Bridge! the Fairy told Jared she had drank a potion to make herself grow so she could talk to us and that we needed to help her FIND GORDON THE GOBLIN! Glug glug glug... we followed the smell of goblin grub! Chitter chatter, sun was shining, stopping not to wonder why, finding lots of butterflies! Round the woods we went searching for Gordon. It was a relief to find out a few of our pals could speak Goblin and that they could teach the rest of us. Wednesday 19th July We had a boogey and groovy started the day led by Freya's worm which got us so up for dancing! Shortly followed by becoming as... Big as bears! & Funky Chickens, Silly lions, funky snakes, angry dinosaurs, angry snakes ENTER INSIDE.... the Magic ball  The Magic ball which took us to a castle where we found Ameerah the snow queen who had the powers to freeze & un freeze us.  Suddenly a creature appeared in the woods wanting us to feed them ice lollies.  Nicole then made a cake ato give to the snow queen then that made us dance Sarah could smell the sea We had a swim, cooled down but then got shooed away by a giant octopus.  Ameera brought out the magic bottle. We all had to get into the magic bottle which took us back to Castlemilk Library. What a day! Thanks everyone! Wednesday 5th July The Porridge & Play Castlemilk pals took the library by storm again this Wednesday. We had a rollicking adventure featuring a mucky brew, a giant and some very tasty marshmallows! We danced, dressed up and met, among others, the Funny Camel, the Hungry Hippo, the Happy Crocodile and the Funky Unicorn. The Magic Ball took us to Spaghetti Land where we had to suck up enough spaghetti to create a path. In amongst the tomatoey strands, Maryam spotted some gummy sweeties - yum! Then a Bog Creature appeared and invited us to join in their favourite activity - getting mucky! Slugs and flies, syrup and smashed up strawberries, we were soon as mucky as could be. We poured on some melted chocolate to top it all off! Mucky me mucky you mucky mucky mucky brew! Then we danced a dance in a long long line, and to our surprise, whoosh! A wave came along to wash us clean. Kevin saw a shark so we pretended to be seaweed, then when it was safe we floated on our backs, relaxing in the waves. Wednesday 28th June Storyplay Summer is here! It was fabulous to be back in Castlemilk for the start of our summer 2023 Porridge & Play sessions. We were warmly welcomed into Castlemilk Library where we’ll be meeting every Wednesday for Storyplay imaginings, food and friendship. With a mix of old faces and new, we got to know each other with our Dancing Warm up! Then our favourite Funky Chicken joined the fun with his crew - the Laughing Hyena, the Angry Elephant, the Angry Lion, the Happy Giraffe and the Happy Cat. We flew high in the sky in our colourful Flying Balloons. We saw the sea and the mountains, the sky and the moon! A zoo full of animals, squawking and merry and flowers that smelled like strawberries! We dressed up to the nines and pulled our scariest grins. Till some witches appeared with a cackle and giggle! I’m going to drink a bottle of p-p-p-p-p-POISON!! With a narrow escape we arrived at our p-p-p-p-p-PICNIC and enjoyed a feast of bread, watermelon, cheese, boiled eggs and cucumber sticks.
