'In the Way of the Word' - Active Grannies! 31st Jan We had a great time returning to our Granny characters this week with P6. We created these characters in the first term and introduced them to the whole school at the Celebration Assembly in November 2018. Bookplay at Canal View Nursery

2020-01-31T16:31:03+00:00

We had a great time catching up with Canal View Nursery families and playing the Licketyspit games again at Bookplay this term. We also explored the wonderful story of "Angelo" and his family of circus performers - and created some circus acts of our own! It was great to hear that so many families have been playing the Lickety Playcard games at home and to have so many parents and carers getting involved in creating the group circus acts and supporting all the children - as well as their own - alongside our actor-pedagogues and nursery staff. Don't forget to sign up to our Children & Families Network, if you haven't already, to find out about more Lickety-play opportunities around Edinburgh. "It’s my mummy. She’s swimming in the sea. This is the building. That was the sky and then it turned into the sea." Child, Reflective Drawing "The water, a boat with a person on it. There’s a tree with some apples on. There’s a swing, a baby bird in a nest and some food for the birds" Child, Reflective Drawing "She likes the Grandma song so she gets me to sing that song in the house" Mum I wish I could go there Margaret & Margaret Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do... BookPlay with P1 Families at St Mary’s

2019-03-04T11:40:22+00:00

As part of Licketyspit's Storyplay Schools programme at St Mary's Primary, we would love to invite you to join your child for BookPlay on Tuesday 5th March at 9am (P1a) or 1pm (P1b). Like Porridge & Play, BookPlay is a relaxed drama-led play session of games, rhymes & songs for you, your children, and school staff - followed by a delicious picnic! We will also read aloud the wonderful children's book Angelo by Quentin Blake, and explore the story in our play!
