Find out what the Cranhill  group got up to in their latest Storyplay adventure!  Week 4 of Porridge & Play Cranhill 2023 Thursday 25th May The sun was beaming on the Cranhill Pals and the Cranhill Development Trust Garden proved the best outdoor space to play! Everyone felt energised by the heat and the sunlight and smiles abounded, so our dance warm up felt bouncier than ever. Rainbow Trout Chef meets the Genius Chefs Of Cranhill Rainbow Trout Chef needed some bright new ideas to get a new job! Luckily he was visiting Cranhill, home of The Genius Chefs: Chef Melissa, Chef Amazing, Super Hero Chef, Lazy Chef, Chef Coolio, The 2 Blind Chefs, Chef invisible, Chef disaster, French chef, Ninja Chef, Grandma chef, Gymnast chef and the infamous Chef Johnny Johnson. Together they put their culinary genius to work and came up with the wildest cake recipe!  You’ll need the following ingredients: Love and kindness Strawberries Sprinkles and icing Raspberries Gymnastic food Egg Rainbow Chocolate Amazonian Lemons Rainbow sprinkles Butter icing Vanilla Rainbow drops Weetabix Trout fish Flour Banana Baking powder Orange juice And to decorate get plenty of Rainbow icing, Rainbow chocolate, Chocolate, Rainbow webs and Cream! An Afternoon at the Bridgeton Forest

Find out what the Bridgeton group got up to in their latest Storyplay adventure!  Week 3 Friday 19th May We had a lovely Friday afternoon with our Bridgeton pals at Porridge & Play! Everyone was very smiley and looking forward to getting their weekend started and there was a very jolly atmosphere at the church! Our circle is really quite big as there are so many of us up for a good time. We love starting with a good boogie The grown ups are always ready for any fantastic shapes the children may throw at them! Alan and Shae are fast with their footwork but Moira, Niamat, Colleen or Arafa have no problem keeping up with that! Make Yourself as Big As A Bear!! The littlest ones like Maab and Emilia know every word to our favourite warm up and Mohammed really loves swooping and gliding like the Bird. Find out what the Cranhill  group got up to in their latest Storyplay adventure!  Week 3 of Porridge & Play Cranhill 2023 Thursday 18th May Glorious Grannies! Grandma Tippy Tippy Shaylin loves reindeer and the animals in the forest. She feeds the animals carrots that she grows herself. Grandma Amelia lives in a pink house made out of wood. She makes pancakes with syrup for breakfast. Miss Granny Smith grows granny smith apples and she puts sweet decorations on her apples - sparkles that you can eat! Her house is made of brick and has a big maple roof. The door is rainbow and the windows are plain black. She has a full farm. She’s got a shed full of cows and foxes and sheep and horses. She feeds her trees apples, cherries, strawberries, and tomatoes! Yes, feeds them! And Grandma Young has a house with clouds for a roof! It has blue doors and rainbow grass. She grows fruit in her garden - her favourite are strawberries! All these glorious Grannies have funny looking trees that when the Grannies are busy turn into naughty monsters! Week 3 Wednesday 17th May In the deep deep forest of Govan one can enjoy many interesting places and spot fantastic creatures. Have you ever seen a Silly Cat and Scary Cat hang out together? Or a Slithering Snake roaming in the undergrowth? What about a Crazy Dolphin bathing in a pond or a Dying Fly chilling on the ground? There’s a Small Ant over there and Big Elephant over here! A Sleepy Giraffe taking a nap, a Quacking Duck dancing about and a Barking Dog saying hello from afar! Then there’s the part of the woods where the Forest Grannies live… Granny Chibu likes cereal for breakfast. Granny Ala has a forest room inside her house! She has trees with apples, oranges and watermelon and she makes chips for breakfast! Granny Zakiyah has a medium sized tree house. She lives with her family and likes omelettes in the morning! Granny Anas lives in a candy house & Granny Tibyan lives in a treehouse. This group of pals really really like to dance They groove and turn they hop and jump And together they make cool dance steps up! Find out what the Cranhill  group got up to in their latest Storyplay adventure!  Week 2 of Porridge & Play Cranhill 2023 Thursday 11th May Our pal the Funky Chicken invited some peculiar animals to Cranhill today! We met: The Cheeky Lion The Dying Fly The Naughty Crocodile The Big Dinosaur The Weird Flamingo  The Cheeky Rabbit The Slippery Cat The Scary Lion And The Giant Crocodile ‘So this is slippery cat that’s what we were playing and this is a wet cat but slippery and that’s why she’s on the floor because she’s slippery. That’s me when I am cat. My favourite thing was…everything!’ We also got experimental concocting the stinkiest, stickiest Mucky Brew with the Cranhill crew! Here’s our formula… A smelly dinosaur egg, mud from a puddle, feathers, sand, mice, butterflies, a poisoned cat, fire, slime, glitter and smelly fish Mucky Me, Mucky You, Mucky Mucky MUCKY BREW! ‘We’re on the pirate ship and its raining and its sunny and there’s a rainbow.’  ‘This was a pirate! A Day out with the Pirate Crew after a very Mucky Brew!

Week 2 Wednesday 10th May ‘The sun and that is another sun. The fish. Fish fish fish fish!’  The Govan Pirate Crew lined up ready for inspection. What a collection of misfits! Captain Smelly Beard got everyone working on the ship scrubbing the deck, climbing the rigging and even walking the plank! This week we created fantastic pirates with our dressing up bag of old clothes and we met such brilliant looking characters: Captain Fiddle and Captain Silly, Captain Smelly Pirate Silly Potato and a beautifully dressed pirate who claimed ‘I’m from Paris!’ We went on a Sea Adventure and we swam, surfed and discovered that the sea can be calm and relaxing and stormy and terrible too! And it’s full of fish, fish, fish! We had a fire at the shore to cook some fish we caught, they had incredible flavours like  Chocolate, fish, marshmallow and pineapple. And to top it all up we had some sticky marshmallows too! But before all that we got stuck into a very Mucky Brew. We wore, amongst other things, an ostrich egg, mango, strawberries more strawberries and sliced banana, peanut butter & jelly, water, hot chocolate and avocado…all over our bodies! Find out what the Bridgeton group got up to in their latest Storyplay adventure!  Week 1 of Porridge & Play Bridgeton 2023 Friday 5th May It was lovely to be back in Bridgeton again for Porridge & Play 2023! We had a great group of 29 including lots of our old friends and a couple of new families - great to meet you! Some visiting Grannies also joined the group for a dance and dress up! You can see one of them in the picture to the right. Can you remember their song? We flew above Glasgow in our Flying Balloons and William saw the Armadillo which he drew in his Reflective Drawing. The second time we went up in the sky we talked about where we might go - Ireland, Poland, Iraq, Sudan, China, Ukraine…  We ended up high above a rainforest full of fairies and snappy crocodiles! Spotting a cool blue lake, we flew down for a refreshing dip with the colourful fish. Being in the water was exciting and relaxing and we worked up an apetite swimming around.  So it was time to fly back to Bridgeton for our picnic of melon and strawberries, soup and bread and all sorts of fruits! Up to the Sky and into the Sea!

Find out what the Cranhill  group got up to in their latest Storyplay adventure!  Week 1 of Porridge & Play Cranhill 2023 Thursday 4th May It was phenomenal to be back in Cranhill again for Thursday family Porridge & Play! We saw lots of our friends from last year and plenty new faces too, including children we'd met at our tasters in Cranhill Primary, Lamlash Nursery and Bellrock Nursery. There were a whopping 80 people! Plus, we were joined by CDT's very own Kayla who will be with us for these sessions, and our new Licketyspit Actor Pedagogue, Steven. We played Funky Chicken and met the.... Cheeky Lion Funny Cat Funky Giraffe Funny Giraffe Crazy Lion and many more animals with groovy some moves! We flew high in the sky in our Flying Balloons and saw a rocket ship! A gingerbread house! A sunset, a dinosaur and a flamingo! Then we swooped down for a dip in the bluest of seas, whoosh, splash, float on your back... We also had some excellent energetic dancing and some very special singing, including Ellie teaching us her fave, Grandma Grandma! And there was a giant Lickety Art Gallery including Shiva's brilliant fold out drawing of a magical balloon that got popped! I wonder what we'll play next? Can you Dance like a Witch in Pants?

Wednesday 3rd May Ha ha haa, the witchy fingers of Govan! When they dance they whirl and twirl They might trick you with their witchy words! We had a fabulous time back at the Pearce Institute this week with our Porridge & Play pals! The music played and we had a good old boogie around. We dressed up in marvellous clothes, self-expression was the way. And of course, some of our four legged friends joined us for Storyplay… The Bear and Hare and Ox and Fox got us started then others came to join the party! The Naughty Rabbit which gallops around, The Jumping Giraffe which goes bounce bounce bouce! The Good Crocodile which doesn’t go snap, And don’t forget the Really Nice Cat! There was the Rawr Tiger and the Dancing Monkey, And last but not least the Mother Ducky! Then we flew off in our Flying Balloons and saw fire and sun, perhaps the moon.  The cold Antarctic lay below… Next week, I wonder where we’ll go? Hope to see you there!
