How cool is Castlemilk Library!? Not only is it bursting with books, it’s also a place where you can Storyplay, chat, eat and make new friends.
It was great to see some familiar faces as we returned for the 4th year of Porridge & Play Castlemilk.
Abu helped us at the sign in table as we welcomed new friends from St Bartholomew’s Primary and Arnwood Nursery
Quick as a flash, we picked up our balloons and soon we were flying high above Glasgow!
Gracey, Evie and Freya spotted a dinosaur – and oh no! It was eating their toes!
We also saw lions and tigers, eating steak. Feeling a bit peckish, we flew down to grab some.
Charlie spotted a llama and Danylo saw a hedgehog. They both made a lucky escape from that lion!
When we dressed up we turned into all sorts of people.
Just like in books, in Storyplay you can be anyone, go anywhere and do anything!
We met Mr Spider, Strawberry, Mrs Dinosaur, Mrs Potato, Mr Peach from the beach, Mr Fishy, Mr Llama and many more new friends!
Magic Ball, magic ball take us where we want to go!
We met a sleepy hedgehog and fed it delicious nuggets.
We swam in the sea with sharks and fish.
A dolphin led us home.
What an adventure! Can’t wait to see what we come up with next week.

Reflective Drawing
We almost always do ‘Reflective drawing’ at the end of a Storyplay session. It’s nice to relax and draw & think about what we’ve all done & how we feel about it.
Reflective drawing isn’t about doing a ‘good’ drawing – it’s about drawing whatever comes into your head when you think about what you’ve just done.
But as you draw you realise more about what you thought or imagined in the session. And it’s great to share that with everyone & hear what they thought! So many things go on in Storyplay!

That’s the butterfly when we were up in the balloon and this is when we were in space with the balloon. I most enjoyed the clothes – dressing up. I was a bear. I’ve been coming for 4 or 3 years.
That’s when we sneaked away and that’s a fly and a dog and a fish and that’s the sun setting. And there’s even swings – invisible ones. There was a golden apple but it was invisible and then Evie ate it and she started to dance like that and I copied Evie!
That’s the lava game. Me and my sister. The buildings. Some stars. That’s the hedgehog.
