This week we played Let’s Bake a Cake with Bakers from all over the place.
- There was Baker Bella and Baker Beans.
- Baker Naughty Cookies and Baker Mushroom.
- Baker Silly Billy Shake Bake and Baker Pumpkin pie.
- And many other bakers besides!
What a cake these bakers made, with skeletons, worms and pancakes.
Strawberry donuts and chocolate too, bubblegum, pink rabbits and ducks and white paint.
Lava rocks gave the cake a crunch.
We cut a slice and had a munch!
What an imaginative cake indeed.
This week we also had time to read.
We read a book about a king who baked and cooked like anything!
Inside each book there’s a whole world to explore, you could go there in the Magic Ball!
Keep reading and Storyplaying while we’re gone.
But we’ll be back before too long!
Next time
Porridge & Play Castlemilk will be back next year.
In the meantime, look out for WhatsApp messages from us about other Storyplay activities around the city.

Reflective Drawing
We almost always do ‘Reflective drawing’ at the end of a Storyplay session. It’s nice to relax and draw & think about what we’ve all done & how we feel about it.
Reflective drawing isn’t about doing a ‘good’ drawing – it’s about drawing whatever comes into your head when you think about what you’ve just done.
But as you draw you realise more about what you thought or imagined in the session. And it’s great to share that with everyone & hear what they thought! So many things go on in Storyplay!
Here are some of our Reflective Drawings from this week:
Read some of the artist’s reflections from the Lickety Art Gallery:

Us doing the start – Big as a Bear! Everything was fave.

That’s the cake and that’s me baking it. Some strawberries, donuts and the chocolate!

So basically this is the cake and that’s all the ingredients I added inside. I can see all the different colurs and that’s the balloons game we did at the start. I can’t forget ballons! And that’s me doing Big as a bear. Fave ingredient – the sugar balls on the cake. Fave bit – me doing Big as a Bear!

I made a cake – lava and a skeleton and a pink rabbit!

I just tried to draw cake with strawberry worms and some chocolate inside. I’m mixing and that’s Fred with Jelly on this Head!

A cake with chilli powder and coriander and lots of stuff!

I drawed the cake that we all made and I drawed me next to it. I can’t remember all of them but I do remember the lava obviously.

I drawed a baker man and the cake and grass. I drawed the worms and chocolate and that’s the thing that drips down and puts the icing on the cake. Fave – the cake part.
