Ibrox Storyplay Celebration Assembly

We rounded off a fantastic five-week Storyplay Residency at Ibrox Primary and Nursery with a joyous whole-school assembly.

10 parents and carers joined us and joined in with all the pupils and teachers in Big as a Bear led by Taz, Funky Chicken led by Primary 3, Grandma Grandma led by Primary 5, In the Way of the Word led by Primary 7 and Miss Mary Mac led by Primary 6!

It was brilliant to see the older children dressed up and setting a wonderful example of exuberant imaginary play for the rest of the school and the nursery, and it was clear how much they were entertaining each other and enjoying the relaxed “ceilidh-style” sharing of some of the Storyplay games, rhymes and songs.

We were also thrilled to have our Licketyspit Ambassador Tam Baillie talk to everyone about the importance of Children’s Rights and the United Nationals Convention of the Rights of the Child.

Thanks to all the parents who came along and joined in too! If you haven’t done so yet, you can sign up to our Children and Families Network to find out about other Licketyspit projects around Glasgow.

We’ve really enjoyed working with everyone at Ibrox and hope to be back soon. Look at the other blog entries on the Ibrox Storyplay page to see more of what we did during the first Storyplay Residency, and do follow us on Facebook and Twitter and tell us if you’re playing any of the Licketyspit games at home!
