This week’s blogs are by Andre & Taz!

On Saturday…

Writing letters and messages are a great way to express our feelings in creative, engaging and interesting ways. We can write letters to show our appreciation for loved ones like friends, family members, teachers and people who mean a lot to us, or even as a thank you to someone who has helped us. Another reason to write a letter is to give feedback and we love love loved hearing about all the how you felt about our Licketyspit sessions.

In this session, we played Letter to My love which was incredible and so heartwarming to see everyone get involved with Sidhivk writing his letter to his mum and shortly after showing her how much he cares whilst playing with us. We love love love seeing families playing together with siblings and parents sharing the same box, what an absolute delight!

Getting to express ourselves through drawing, writing and talking is really important and we love love loved taking the time to look, read and listen to what you so generously gave us really fantastic ‘letters to Licketyspit’ for drawing where you told us what they love:

‘liked games and drawing. It’s me!’Shidvik

‘It’s very fun to do the dressing up and drawing.’Lara

‘I like when we wrote letters to our loves and dressed up.’Anaya

On Thursday…

Dear members of Licketyspit Thursday Storyplay group. We have had a fantastic three weeks with you all. Our last session was a real highlight getting to see Nirman’s absolute excitement at all moments and Princess introducing us the Rainbow Unicorn. She also wrote a fab, eloquent letter!

Eloquent Meaning: a fancy way of saying well worded

In this session, we played Letter to My Love which was an absolute hoot, hilarious letters, some funny, some very touching, like Tamilore’s letter to his mum. Emmanuel reciting Roses are Red and Lily expressing her love for boxing! When Lily did a letter to her love, her mum was there and her mum’s friend and they were so cheery and encouraging.

Getting to express ourselves through drawing, writing and talking is really important and we love love loved taking the time to look, read and listen to what you so generously gave us. Really fantastic ‘letters to Licketyspit’ in reflective drawing:

‘I love the magic ball and I love the love card! I drew a smiley face because to show love!’– Emmanuel

‘I drew someone dropping the letter. I feel excited. I love playing funky chicken because we all get to make up our own characters.’– Tamilore

‘ Well, my favourite one was when we did. I wrote a letter to my love. I drew pictures of people and animals in love! Because we got to dress up and play fun games! ‘Simmi

‘I drawed the letter and funky chicken and grandma. I love Licketyspitbecause it’s fun and I get to meet new people and go on adventures to meet Queen Lulu and I’m really happy I’m here.’ – Janaiba

Thank you so much for coming each week. We will be back in May and hope that you would love love love to return,

from all of the Licketyspit Team!

On Wednesday…

I sent a letter to my love… while dressed up fabulously to impress…and on the way I dropped it!…Someone must have picked it up and put it in their pocket!

Was it you? Or was it you?

The Wednesday gang are brilliant at guessing and many of them guessed exactly who had their letter to their love!

‘You know what I would love? An adventure on the Magic Ball’  WOOOOOOOOOOOOH!

‘Can you smell that?’

‘The air smells so sweet!’

Well yes! The air is oh so sweet in Candyland and everything is pink!

Looking around Brown found some pink milkshakes that had different flavours and while we were all having a taste…

‘Caw! Caw! Caw!… Greet! Greet! Greet!

A wee crow was cawing and greeting and so very upset. Donald & Precious translated for us as they are fluent in Crow Language.

‘She can’t fly at all and she’s lost from her parents!’ – very much like what happens on our ‘Three Crows’ song.

Ameen had a great idea and gave scarves to everyone to make a climbing rope so we could all climb up to the top of the cliff and find the wee crow’s parents! She was so happy that she gave us some candy as a big thank you and just as Andre started to eat his candy…

‘Oh no! What’s happening?! I think I’m shrinking!! Oh no I’m not…I’m teleporting AAAAAAHHHHH!’

And just like that we all ended up in a movie set!.

‘Hello darlings! You won’t believe this… I got an audition for a play and I have to sing a song and I have no idea about what song to choose!’ – a movie star confused as with other fellow actors but of course that didn’t not phace The Wednesday Gang.‘I have a suggestion!’Brown took a breath and sang a beautiful rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle’.

But the Movie Star had heard of a song about some cool Grandma…

‘Oh we know that song well!’ – and we all sang it together with the Movie Star.

‘I will need to do some dancing to go with it in the audition’ -said the Movie Star.

‘What about doing some nice poses?’- said Felicia.

‘Great idea!’

Everyone contributed with a different pose and the audition piece was complete!

Give us your feedback on Storyplay City!
